Oil prices eased in Asian trade Wednesday as it looked like Hurricane Dolly would spare vital energy production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico, dealers said. They said renewed worries about slower US economic growth, which could hit energy demand, were also weighing on prices.

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived Tuesday in Singapore, where she will attend a six-party meeting on North Korea's nuclear programmes on the sidelines of a regional security forum. Rice arrived in the city-state from Abu Dhabi, where she had briefed Arab allies on the nuclear standoff with Iran, an AFP correspondent travelling with her said.
